Default To squeak or not to squeak

So I EDC my g20 in a CBST combat cut horsehide, it sits on a CB black leather gun belt.

It squeaks a decent amount, and makes all kinds of kinky leather s+m sounds.

So I'm either going to condition the leather, add stick on felt under the CBST clips, or just get a Wilderness belt.

    Any suggestions?

All the above, but don't get new until you have done the conditioning. If it is a rigid leather, it will take more than one application. Squeaky leather is indicative of needing moisture, at least from what I have experienced with my saddles and bridles, and it is some experience because I did not used to be bow legged.

The squeaking is most likely caused by rubbing between the belt clips and the leather. Rub a little wax on the back of the clips and the squeaking will stop for a while.

It squeaks without the holster , I'm going to condition it.

I am also going to buy a new belt. The leather is nice for dress and stuff, but I need something for everyday abusing.

If I may make a suggestion. Be sure you use a conditioner designed for what you are using it for. Some conditioners turn your leather a different color and will weigh it down, not to mention it will get on your clothes and skin. Check this out: www.preservation-solutions.com

Yeah, I have the same CB combination and mine squeaks too. I put conditioner on the holster and it stopped for a whille then started again. Guess it is time for another application. Others mentioned baby powder which I might try.

I use multiple applications of Kiwi "natural" shoe polish, which is nothing but wax partially dissolved in mineral spirits. After five or 10 applications to holsters and belts both, the squeak is gone.

Don't know if this will work for you, but I have a Bianchi Carry lock that used to make me sound like a Cowboy (per my wife) everytime I walked while wearing it. A little baby powder in the right spots silenced it till it was broken in.

Doing this will also not soften the leather to a point of being to flexible.
