    Dear Friends and Fellow Shooters:

    This is our 2009 training schedule. All courses will be held at the Forest Grove Sportsmen’s Association, Inc. in Coraopolis,PA (just west of Pittsburgh).

    Please include a deposit of $200.00 for each course upon registration. The remainder of the tuition is due at the start of the course. Endorse your checks to "DTI, Inc." and mail them to the address above. As space is limited, please register early to avoid
    disappointment. We hope that you will mark your calendars and that we will be able to train together. The best way to contact us is via e-mail at skraut@ix.netcom.com.     Defensive Urban Rifle and Shotgun May 23 & 24, 2009 Tuition $525.00 Students must have attended a creditable Defensive Handgun Course in order to be eligible.

    Instruction will be intense and fast-paced. The course curriculum includes: safe gun handling and preventable firearms accidents, rifle operation, handling, transportation, rifle/pistol transition, and tactical employment. Also included are threat evaluation, risk identification and reduction, multiple targets, lethal threat containment and management, the force continuum, precision shooting, low-light shooting, cover and movement, safely holding suspects at gunpoint, performing under stress, weapon control, close encounters, long-distance encounters, target scanning and quick identification, and the defensive use of the rifle in an urban setting. Classroom subjects will include the latest information on the physio/psychological aspects of lethal encounters, courtroom savvy, post-shooting trauma, ammunition performance in actual shooting, weapon selection criterion, and retention. Safety and correct gun handling will be stressed and expected of all students throughout the course.

    Equipment list includes handgun, rifle, shotgun, sturdy belt and holster, extra magazine or reloader, baseball style hat, safety glasses and ear protection, and 500 rounds of rifle, 50 pistol, 25 buckshot, and 5 slugs. (If you have questions about rifle or shotgun suitability contact us.)

    Class this weekend. John Farnam is one of the top trainers in the country. If you have the time this will be one of the premier training events in Pittsburgh.
    Never underestimate the value of early training.
