Default Re: THE BRADY'S AND OBAMA AGREE ON THE DANGERS OF CONCEALED CARRY

Car advocates – including many who comment on any blog – repeat the mantra that car drivers with driver’s licenses are all "law-abiding citizens," and that the public can trust all license-holders to be responsible no matter where they insist on driving their full-size automobiles.

Yet examples of criminals and other dangerous people with driver’s licenses are not hard to find. A new report seems to pop up every week, and the incidents that find their way into newspapers very likely under-represent the phenomenon.

The fact is that too many drivers with driver’s licenses are not law-abiding citizens, while some license-holders are so incompetent they shouldn't be allowed near a car in the first place, whether they've committed a crime or not. Just having a license isn't reason enough to drive full cars and sport utility vehicles near churches, airports, colleges, National Parks, and other places that Americans want to keep protected from car accidents.

To be clear, this shouldn't be seen as an indictment of all car drivers, and it has nothing to do with the any basic right. Most car drivers (as well as most non-car individuals) are law-abiding and responsible.

However, given incidents like these in just the past few months, and the life and death consequences of automobile misuse, Americans have good reason to want most places in public life to be car-free – including free from vehicles in the hands of legal driver’s license holders.

This gives some credence to the quote by the Tennessean:

"After years, you got one. When you get to thousands … let me know."

And don't think you're off the hook, voters, you're the ones who made this bed. Now you're the ones who are going to have to move over so a gay couple can sleep in it. Tomorrow you're all going to wake up in a brave new world, a world where the Constitution gets trampled by an army of terrorist clones, created in a stem-cell research lab run by homosexual doctors who sterilize their instruments over burning American flags. -- Stephen Colbert

How did that shirt my dad had go? If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them.

How long till they realize that criminals don't rush out and get a LTCF so they are "legal" when they kill someone.
