drop in shotgun recoil reducers?
i was looking for a recoil reducer for my O/U and they drop in weights popped up and that guy in this on EBAY AD says that it makes his 12g O/U feel like a 20g i just never seen them before and can this be made on your own and how does it work?

It's inertia based. The fluid motion, and weight of the mercury in the tube is supposed to slow the recoil, IIRC.
It's a sealed tube with mercury inside, that fits in the butt stock.
Unless you're proficient at making sealed tube containing mercury, you might not want to give this a go.
A simpler version can be made from lead shot in a bag or cigar tube (if you can find one that fits properly). Basically weight helps reduce recoil. I used a shot bag in the hollow plastic stock of a Savage 94 and it helped a bit, but I really can't compare since I've never used one of the mercury reducers.
