Default Tell me about your last meal on earth.

Not trying to be morbid, but rather trying to celebrate life with the understanding that life is impermanent on this planet, and that we should enjoy it as though we are cognizant of this.

I gave this some thought, and since most of us enjoy food as one of the rewards of our labors. Food is a common bond between cultures, and few things can give you time travel other than the smell of chocolate chip cookies.

Why not think about a menu that you would pick if you knew you had one last day, and then Go out and eat it. Whatever the cost of ingredients, whatever the size, type and style. Live it up as though it were your last day on earth. Then celebrate the next day for having had the opportunity.

This is your last meal. Some of us won't have the time or ability to do this when that moment comes, let us have this be part of our 'bucket list".

    Ok, Here is mine:

Breakfast: Beverages: Small pot of espresso with cream and sugar. Another of premium hot chocolate and a small glass of Orange Juice with Champagne.

A basket of warm Croissants, crisp on the outside and soft and buttery inside.

An order of Eggs Benedict (poached egg , canadian bacon, on English muffin covered in Hollandaise sauce,

Small selection of smoked fish and cream cheese on bagels.

A single scrambled egg, with a side of Soft hardwood smoked bacon.

A petit Pan au Chocolat. (Croissant with semi sweet chocolate inside)

Lunch: A Miso soup with a broad selection of Maki Sushi, accompanied with warm Sake.

Dinner:Apetif of Jameson's over ice, or perhaps a fine Gin and Tonic with Bombay Saphire.

Coquille Saint Jaques (Scallops in cream sauce) over pastry shells and Cold Shrimp Cocktail for appetizer. Serve with chilled white Reisling. A small Quiche Llorraine.

Salad: A strong Caesar Salad, heavy on the anchovies.

Main: A Medium-cooked Fork-tender Filet Mignon, with a cold water lobster tail and drawn butter. Garden fresh peas, steamed with butter. White asparagus with Bernaise.

Cheese: Brie en croute, Sharp Cheddar and Marinated Mozzarella, Coarse country style pate. French Bread rounds with Cornichon pickles.

Dessert: Mom's Home made Chocolate Cake, with Vanilla Ice Cream, and a slice of Blue Berry or Apple pie, also ala mode.

I probably could not eat all this one any day but my last on earth, but I regularly regard portions of it.

It never fails to cheer me up and make me cognizant that overall, I am blessed to be here and now.

I don't know what I'd eat, but I hope I'll be in New Orleans eating it.

This thread is killing me, because this is silly.

I'm actually starving right now, and even though the convenience is there I refuse to jot down my ideas for a last meal.

I gotta recommend that while sapphire is good, I think that Hendricks is superior.

I like it so much I drink it straight... Believe it or not (well, in minute quantities). I guess I am either an afficianado or a total alcoholic...lol.
