PA State Representative sets up web site to fight tax hikes.
Metcalfe sets up web site to battle state tax hikes
Monday, March 02, 2009
By Tom Barnes, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
HARRISBURG -- State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe of Cranberry, a conservative Republican and frequent critic of Democratic Gov. Ed Rendell, is going online to try to block any new state tax increases.
He announced today a campaign called "No Representation for Increased Taxation." Residents can go to RepMetcalfe.com and sign the "No Tax Increase" petition electronically, or else download it and print out a hard copy for people to sign.
Other representatives will soon have their own versions of the no-tax-increase petition on line, he said.
"Just as we did with the successful repeal of the 2005 state government pay raise," he said, "we are returning to the grass roots to drive home the message that state lawmakers must put all taxpayers first."
Mr. Rendell isn't proposing any broad-based tax increases, such as the sales tax or income tax, in his fiscal 2009-10 budget, but he is seeking a higher cigarette tax and new taxes on cigars and smokeless tobacco.

Re: PA State Representative sets up web site to fight tax hikes.
CA ran out of money and isn't sending any income tax refunds to people.
I wonder how long until all the states go broke.
