ProMag Ruger P-series mags
Picked up a new 15rd ProMag for my Ruger P89. The mag only held 14 rds and would jam a lot. Took it apart and compared it to the Ruger factory mag and found that the promag spring was longer by two whole coils. The spring was okay quality, just too long. So , I cut off those two coils and the mag now holds 15rds and shot without a problem for 300rds(20reloads). So if you purchased one of these and didn't get around to throwing it out yet, try checking the spring length.

Re: ProMag Ruger P-series mags
I havent owned a promag mag I have liked yet. I ordered 3 10/22 mags from sportsmansguide and ended up throwing them out.
Havent had much better luck with their AK mags.... I will never again buy Promag."The rifle is the weapon of democracy. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military. The hired servants of our rulers. Only the government-and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws." (Edward Abbey, "The Right to Arms," Abbey's Road [New York, 1979])
I have my rifle. Do you?

Re: ProMag Ruger P-series mags
Its always best to buy factory mags with certain exceptions (like Wilson Combat 1911 mags, for example) and be done with it. That way you spare yourself of aftermarket mag drama!
