Avatar Not Updating?

I updated my profile with a new avatar the other day, but my previous one is still showing up in all of my posts. The change shows up when I view my profile, but not in my individual posts.

Is there some sort of manual verification that needs to be done before the change will take effect, to prevent people from posting inappropriate images or something? I can't think of any other reason why it wouldn't be displaying.

Your browser might just be cached, but there is no moderation required for them. Also, make sure you updated your avatar and not your user profile picture, which are two different images It appears that right now your avatar is the picture of a gun, and your profile picture is the Don't Tread On Me patch.

You were right, user error on my part. I mistakenly assumed that "profile picture" and "avatar" were the same thing, and only updated one.
