Default 10/22 Stock & Prone Shooting Position

It's difficult for me to get a good cheek weld w/ the standard stock in the prone position. I'm OK in other positions where my head can be erect & back on the stock. Is a cheek pad the answer?

Yes, probably. Are you shooting through a scope or iron sights (open or aperture)?
You could also look for a different stock or an adjustable butt along the lines of some of the stuff at this link:

Shooting thru a scope. Could get rings that are slightly lower, but not low enough to take care of the problem.
