    Question AR-15 Stripped Lowers

    Anyone know where I can pick up one (or more) near Erie?

    last time i was at sportsmans supply in butler they had about 8left, not exactly close to erie but it could be worse, and they may be out but if your desperate its worth a try

    You can also try Essential Arms

    Unfortunately, you have to call them, and last time I did, the voice mail box was completely full. However, they called me back (caller id?) about 30 minutes later and took my order.

    Lowers must be shipped to an FFL, and they will need the FFL's paperwork before they ship anything. However, when I called, they already knew my FFL. Got the lower a week later.

    (And if you order, consider the 'tough coat' finish. It matches most uppers color-wise a bit better from what I hear)

    Not near Erie ... but Federal Firearms in the South Hill of Pittsburgh had like 15 stripped lowers ($180 OTD) in stock

    Wow, that's a good price. I have a question though. What's the difference between a 'low shelf' lower versus a 'hi shelf' lower?

    For a drop-in-auto-sear or Lightning-Link you'd need a low-shelf lower. If you don't have either, and probably never will, it really doesn't matter.
