We've had this thing for years. We got it along with a whole bunch of antique tools from my grandfather and we never did and still don't know what it is.

Looks like some sort of drawer slide. It's got to be mid to late 1800's.

everytime i look at it really quickly i think that it's some sort of stick making dye for when you need to roast hotdogs over the fire...
