good price?

Jim Hakes has a mini-14 with 3 30 round mags for 500.00 its used, and not in great shape, has an aftermarked buttler creek folder on it and synthetic furniture.

looks to be in good used shape, but obviously used. is this a good deal or should i move on?

30 round mags are 30 dollars each!!! NUTS!

Ask to shoot some rounds through it before you buy it. If you offer to buy the ammo and clean the gun, there shouldn't be a problem... If he's reluctant then be suspicious... The gun is only worth what you are willing to pay for it... A million dollar house isn't worth a million dollars if nobody will buy it... lol

im sure they will let me shoot it... im just not sure how much they go for. i have seen used ones for 600.00 down to 450.00. new are 650 to 900...

i was just testing the waters on a price.

the messed up thing is i went back in there last night to see it and it was on hold.

they called me a bit later to say the guy changed his mind and if i wanted it they could hold it for me. i saw this as fate that i was not to have it, so i decided to just get another AR... lol

I sold my 196 series stainless/synthetic Mini-14 here on the forum two months ago for $450. I wasn't interested in gouging anyone so I figured it was a fair deal.

Jim is a straight up guy.
I expect the $500 is the price the consignee put on the rifle. There should be some wiggle room on the price.

BTW, in one sentence you wrote it's not in great shape, then the next sentence states it is in great shape.
Bottomline is, are you willing to spend 500 bucks on it?

lol, i noticed that and fixed it... im going to stick with AR's.
