    Default Need membership imput

I need help from the membership of PAFOA.
I’m looking to move to PA.
I can use some guidance in following.

    Property must be:
1 hour drive from Belvidare or Phillipsburg.
Rural area. No cities. No city people. No NY/NJ Liberals
    2A friendly. (Issuance of LTCF)
    Conservative local politics.
    Low taxes.
    An active gun club.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks
    RD

Southern Pike county is not to bad.
Biggest "city" is in Monroe county, Stroudsburg.
Travel for Belvidere is a go for time, never tried P'burg.
Some NJ/NY transplants, but then again I am a PRNJ escapee, as will you be. Don't cross them all off, some moved for the same reasons as you.
County Sherriff is good with 2A.
Lots of private communities, some good, some bad.
Also lots of homes not in communities up for sale now, good time to buy.
My taxes, Lehman Twsp., are not to bad, no where even close to NJ.
Lots of little gun clubs around, but many are not taking new members, some are owned by a few "elderly" men who want no new blood.
If I can be of any help with any specifics in the area just drop me a PM, or if you could use a tour let me know.
Good luck in you hunt RD.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.
I'm waiting for the appraisal on my house to see what I can afford, than the search begins.

I'm not concerned with honest PRNJ runaways, it's just the winey liberals I want nothing to do with them.

gf45acp Thanks for the offer, I may be contacting you soon.

Good luck getting away from "city folk" or liberals in the Pocono's these days.
I dunno. My best guess would be northern Pike, but there’s only one major thoroughfare to get there which has been a traffic mess for nearly time out of mind.

I think Exbiker may be onto something. You can hop over the bridge in Belvidere and stay the hell off rte80 and look for something between nj and rte 33. It’s been a while, but that area still seemed some what quiet.

If you want rural and inexpensive you might want to look into areas like Greentown or Newfoundland ... they are still fairly 'pure'

The places I would look that give you very rural settings with lots of farms and very short ride to work are Upper Mt Bethel Township, Lower Mt Bethel Township, Washington Township and Plainfield Township. These are all Northampton County. In Monroe County Ross and Hamilton Townships will keep you close to P`burg and Belvidere.
Lot`s of people got in trouble moving over here because they underestimated costs and commuting expenses. Over estimate everything and plan on the worst. Think practical, utility bills, taxes the McMansion SUV dudes are part of the reason for the local mortgage crisis.
If you want rural make sure you find a location on a township road, I`m not a living in a community person. I`m a redneck born and raised in Pa. I don`t like associations, homeowners boards, clubhouses, gates or any of that stuff. Just a secondary form of government controlling your life and another set of taxes aka dues to pay for a couple of amenities that few really get to use anyway.
    Just my humble opinion.

I'm thinking small house, barn or big garage, and room.
I live in a rural area now, I like the quiet and no nosy neighbors.

exbiker, thats a great point. I hopefully weighing all additional expenses and adding it to the overall living costs.

I'm talking to a realtor now and will be looking in the areas that have been recommended. (I'm still waiting for the assessment on my house.)

Thank you, your help is always appreciated.
