    Default High Cal semi auto?

I just wanted to get some opinions that anyone would give. I was looking for an sks reasonably priced around 200-225. Im not finding that. Are there any other high caliber semi auto assault rifles that are a good buy for around that price?

Keep looking, the Yugo SKS are the "new Chinese" of affordable SKS-dom these days. I can't fathom that they cant be found for under $250.00.

If not - yowza, we're in a deeper binjoe ditch than I thought.

When I hear High Cal semi auto ... I think of something in 308 or something similar. To me, the 7.62x39 is an intermediate caliber.

But good luck finding any semi auto rifle for under $250. I haven't seen any SKSs for under that anymore. A few months ago, like before November, not a problem.

    +1.

Hell, the WASR22 .22LR AKMs are all gone now, but even a few weeks ago were approaching the $400.00 mark, and the GSG5s are what, like $600.00 guns in some retailers?

Your only cheap hi-caliber semi is the Garand from CMP.

Let's not confuse "assault weapon", which is a political word used to describe scary-looking guns, and "assault rifle", which is the technical term for an intermediate-powered select-fire rifle, and which would be an NFA item in America today.

Sorry, it bothers me when gun owners use the wrong terms... at least the media can claim an anti-gun agenda as an excuse.
Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.

+10000000 to that. We gunowners are our own worst enemies sometimes.
Like posting a Yuotube video masturbating your M4rgery while asking the ANTI-GUN Dems a 2nd Amendment question in the "Youtube debates" of past.

IIRC, the Dems and Biden had a lot of fun with that at ALL gunowners expense.

At least calling a rifle an "EBR" is self-deprecating humor.

    Back on topic;
Attend the nearest gunshows and pay attention to the walkers carrying what might interest you. They often have the neat stuff at far less than what the table-holders are asking.

They will not be banned at all! The bill to revitalize that AWB went into committee in November, ever came back. President Obama has NO plans to confiscate any guns at all, nor does anyone else in the adminisrtation.

SKS's are not assault rifles anyway, and I think you can still find some shooter Yugos around $250 or so.
ALL the Chinese SKS's are around $300 and up now - I should have bought many more than I did....
