    Default how legal...would this be

i have a working design for a mountable FLARE gun for pistols.
and pistol with a bottom rail could accept it.
it is chambered for 12 gauge flares, smooth bore, 4 inch barrel
    full steel construction.

would the full production of this be legal, as long as it is a flare gun?

what stipulations would be apply here?

i have plans to patent and attempt to propose the idea to the military, i would like to have a working prototype.

anyone with a brain will realize its military purpose.

I think that would be legal, but if I where you I would also consider building a 37mm flare launcher, because specialty flares for those can be found, and the sell them commercially already for AR Attachments, so they must be legal.

Remember, I am not a lawyer, You are actions are your own, and am not suggesting or advising you do anything Illegal

    All the best,

Rule 1 of planning to patent something.

    1. Don't post about it publicly on the internet.

    ummm

it's made for pistols with a rail...and shoots 12ga flares.

there really isnt a whole lot of variation you can do with that design.

something like the modded FN pistol they use on battlestar?

its something like that, however it is modeled after the m203 grenade launcher

i figured it was probably already done (idea wise), however i would still like to produce one of my own off of my design. that thing just looks silly lol
