Default Stag Arms AR-15 Value/ Opinion

    Hey all-
I know a guy that is unloading a Stag Ar-15. Are these decent rifles? Any ideas on what a fair price would be to pay for this? I know it is used, but I think he was looking to get $500.00. I already have a Colt AR, but if this is a good deal, on a decent rifle, I might just pick up a spare.

If he's selling it for $500, my guess is its stolen or something is up with it. New they are about $900+ and thats not factoring in the obamania.

IMO they are good guns, and if all is ok with it jump on it, but $500 is way way low for a stag, could probably get double that easy in this market.

any idea how many rounds it has through it?

what kind of shape is it in?

$500 for a stag is cheap. on the other hand, if it has enough rounds through it that it is time to replace the barrel, BCG, etc. then it might not be such a great deal (though prolly still not a bad deal).

imho, stag makes a good AR.

I 2nd that. If you don't want it.... I want dibs on it after Steve!

They go for about a grand at the low end right now. Even used you can easily get $700-$1000 depending on model and condition.

$500 is a good deal. You will not be sorry for that one.

I know it's not stolen, as I know the guy personally. In fact, he'll probably want to do a FFL transfer. From the replies I'm getting, it sounds like I should jump on this.

That's a HORRIBLE price....give me his name and phone number so I can tell him.

Seriously....Stags are excellent rifles, either factory built or using their receiver. Stag (or the company that makes the Stag receivers) builds the S & W AR rifles. Quality is up to Bushmaster/Armalite/Colt standards.
