Does it bother you when sketchy people in gun shops....
walk around the store picking out guns that "look cool" and then proceede to waive them all around, point them at the shop employees and reference items by their street names and NO ONE says a damn thing? Some guy got really interested in Ruger 10/22 that was made to look like an AK and they had some trouble talking him out of buying it for "home defense"...I hate Norristown.

Re: Does it bother you when sketchy people in gun shops....
Yeah, I know what you mean... I had a recent experience like that in a gun shop... it was a guy who was carrying a .40 Glock, wild and orange-colored mohawk... numerous and unartistic tats... multiple ear, nose, and elsewhere piercings, etc. and a semi-wild look in his eye.
But in this case the owner said he actually had prior dealings with the fellow, and would trust him with a firearm sooner than some of the more 'straight-laced' looking customers.
Go figure!

Re: Does it bother you when sketchy people in gun shops....
I walked in a store one time to finish paying and picking up my new glock 26 and a guy was in there. He picked up a "street sweeper" and was asking how he can convert it to full auto and that it can not jam incase he needs it in an "emergency" the owner behind the counter asked for his ID and he payed with cash ($1500). The owner didnt say 1 word else to him. This is where he should have said something. What I dont know but it was a little disturbing. My wife and I and our children all heard it. We laughed a little bit but it really isnt that funny!

Forgot to mention he was wearing a hat cocked to the one side and his pants almost fell of his ass. So you can imagine the type!

Targetmaster gets a call every day asking if they sell "Bulletproof Vestises".
Great job!

Re: Does it bother you when sketchy people in gun shops....
I try not to let appearances influence my thoughts. I used to be that kid with the colored mohawk. I never failed to say sir or ma'am though. I always held doors open. I said please and thank you. I try to let a person's actions be the only thing that colors my opinion of them (damn it I did not intend any sort of pun there).
If a straight laced person says the same type of shit I would feel the same way as a thuggish jitbag saying the same stupid shit.
Plus 5 years ago when I bought my first handgun I worked in an office where I had zero client contact so never shaved, I wore flip-flops and shorts to work so going in it would have been easy to dismiss me. The thing was I probably made as much money as any of the full-time employees there and had a BS. Looks never tell the full story. I recently went into Old, Odd, and Otherwise and I think the owner dismissed me because I had a hoodie and jeans on. He lost out on several thousands of dollars of sales since I will never buy there.Last edited by adymond; February 19th, 2009 at 01:02 PM.

I was in a local shop a couple months ago. These "thugs" came in to try on the two used vests he had. The guy couldn't fit into the concelable one so he was trying on the Military Flak jacket. Then he tried to see if his coat would fit over it.
