Default Groundhogs right around the corner

I haven't been on in awhile, miss talking about hunting, so I thought I'd bring something to the table. Can't wait for some good spring/summer hunting, and many hogs better count their days, I saw one of those ugly bastards yesterday, they just look like a crosshair should be on their head.

Got a 6mm BR and a 17 HMR for cure them. Oh lets not forget the best one, my bow, I can't wait to try out my new heads on those little buggers.

Let me know what you guys are working with to get them.

Usually use a .243 but i screwed up the scope a while back and had been using my .30-06 with 150 gr ballistic tips. Does the job.
Looking forward to the time and it will be here soon.

Man you better tell me the places you have to hog hunt. We've all but cleaned out our farms.

I'm getting a new scope for my Savage .243 here when I get my income tax return... I found a Tasco 6-24x42 online for like 70 bucks with free UPS shipping... Not bad at all... The one that came with the gun is a Bushnell 3-9 and I just don't like it... Never hunted woodchucks before, this year will be my first...

My friend & I just went to get him a new GH plinker last week. He picked up a nice Ruger .22 rifle (all black) & 25 round mag.

I never thought of ground hogs as food before finding this forum...However, Ive read some posts here that say they are quite good.
I asked my buddy & he said he's never eaten them, he just dispatches them so they don't dig up his property and disposes of them. They are the only thing he kills & doesn't eat. I asked him if he'd ever heard of eating them & he hadn't.
Another person once told me they used GH meat for perch bait, and my mom told me grandpa used to give them to a family down the street for them to cook up for dinner, but for reasons unknown to her, grandpa didn't have any interest in feeding them to his own family.
I'm one who'll try any food once. They eat my garden, so If I can repay the favor & get my garden back in the form of meat I'm in!
So if they are supposedly good eating, I'm looking for some recipes.

From what I've heard, you boil the meat and then bake it in BBQ sauce... I'm not so adventerous, but hey, let me know how it is and I may just try it... lol
