Quick question-state parks...
Hey my fellow PAFAOs,
I know this has been beaten to death already!
however, please bear with me.
The reason I waste your time is that it has just gotten too complicated for me to understand. All the threads on the topic have gotten too muddy by scenarios such as "there is a school across the street from the state park" sportsman's permits, revolvers not a semi autos..LTCF...CC..OC..etc etc...
so, id like to ask for the KISS response to my scenario(keep it simple, stupid).
I am 19 years old. and a lawful owner of a semi auto handgun(glock19).
I want to go hiking in moraine state park with a my gun. May I legally OC during my hike?
(without possession of a LTCF or sportsman's permit)
I enjoy hiking alone, and had a close encounter with a mother bear and her cubs last year.
and for waht its worth... I was also informed that a few miles down the the trail I hike, is frequented by hoards of gays.. apparently its the local gays/truckers "hookup" place.
I feel this would be great place to start exercising my right to self defense.
Thanks folks!
Andy

No.
CC is now permitted in State Parks with a LTCF. OC is still prohibited per DCNR regulation.
Also, unless you are walking from home to the park, you can't legally get the gun to the park, as you need to fall under an exception (this reason doesn't) or be licensed in order to carry in a vehicle.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.

Re: Quick question-state parks...
For bears I would carry good strong pepper spray in addition to my gun while hiking. Spraying a bear has much less potential for interaction with law enforcement than shooting one.
I really doubt the homos will actually physically attack you & you can't draw a gun on someone for making a verbal remark even if it's of a sexual nature coming from another man.
If you want to carry, get a LTCF & really learn the law.
