Feb 28 Fun shoot- Anyone going?
The York Pistol is hosting a "fun shoot" at the IWL Feb 28. I'll be there unless something major comes up or the weather is horrible.
From their web site:
Fun Shoot Info
If the USPSA matches are a little too serious for you, or you just can't get enough pistol shooting, then you should try our monthly Fun Shoots!
Fun shoots are kind of competition-like, but mostly they are intended for anyone who likes to shoot to just come out and enjoy handguns and comraderie. This is a great venue to introduce your buddies, wives, girlfriends, and kids to shooting. We don't ask much in the way of equipment, or experience, just that you are safe at all times.
Our funshoots are an untimed, accuracy based event, featuring a variety of targets; PPC paper, steel, bowling pins, claybirds, a little untimed IPSC action, even the food of the month. They are run by myself Gary, and my right hand man Mark. The emphasis is on the fun. It is a good time to practice accuracy with your competition gun, play with your carry gun, or any other arm that is collecting dust (assuming it holds 6 rounds minimum).
Winners win bragging rights, with a team trophy shoot in Sept.
We shoot every 4th Saturday of the month, setup at 8:30am, shooting at 10:00am. Cost is $15.
For more detailed info, please e-mail me at iwlafunshoot1@comcast.net, and I'll put you on the mailing list for announcements and other important info not listed here.Last edited by jpavoncello; February 16th, 2009 at 12:58 PM. Reason: adding info

Re: Feb 28 Fun shoot- Anyone going?
Here is Huddy's obituary. I do not know at this time as to what the funeral arrangements are. There is a link for contributions to Alex's lemonade stand foundation which if you don't know is probably one of the most courageous stories ever. If anyone would like to donate to the family, I am still receiving...please PM me.

Hudson "Huddy" Wayne Rinker, one year, ten months, and twenty-days, was born March 30, 2007 a son of Tom and Amy Watkins Rinker, took his place as an Angel in Heaven on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009 at his home at 140 Bower Lane, Jersey Shore in the company of his family after an eight month battle with stage four, high risk neuroblastoma childhood cancer.
Huddy was diagnosed on July 9, 2008 at age fifteen months. He displayed unbelievable courage and strength throughout his difficult fight with such an aggressive disease. Huddy brought smiles to all those he came in contact with and touched the hearts of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He spent much of the last eight months at Janet Weis Children's Hospital at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, where he was known as High-five Hudson.
Huddy loved to drink iced tea, eat M&M's and vanilla ice cream cones, and play with his "Bo-Bo" Grayson. Whenever music would play, Huddy would dance and he got big laughs out of people smelling his stinky piggies. Huddy liked playing with trucks, rolling balls, singing songs and anything Elmo. He would always run to the living room window to watch deer and turkeys in the field and he never missed an opportunity to give his Golden Retriever Sage a bone. Huddy loved being outside for any reason but when he got too sick to be outside, he would always take time to look out the window with his Momma at his Brother and Daddy acting silly for him to cheer him up. He loved riding on the tractor with his Daddy and would sit for hours content just being held.
Huddy's comforts in life were his Momma and his camouflage blanket and he would never go anywhere without the two. He was always content and happy as long as he was hugging his Mom as she sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, no matter what medical procedure was being done to him. Huddy was a little boy, but he was larger than life. He was an inspiration to people who knew of him and will continue to inspire us through his legacy. He was courageous, compassionate, happy, had a great sense of humor and he knew no fear. Huddy was here on earth for just a short time but he made the best of every moment and will live on in the hearts of many forever. He was one of those rare souls who truly brought out the best in people and for that, he will be remembered and loved always.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his big brother "Bo-Bo" Grayson Thomas Rinker at home and maternal grandparents Ron and Peg Watkins of Williamsport.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Donations can be made online at http://www.alexslemonade.
com or by calling the Foundation at telephone number: 610-649-3034 Donations should be made in memory of Hudson and designated for finding a cure for neuroblastoma.
