Choke Tube Lube
Got a new Benelli Nova last sunday. It said to use choke tube lube, never heard of it, is it really necessary to put this on the threads of the chokes.

Re: Choke Tube Lube
Use any quality anti-seize compound. Most retail dept. stores carry a brand or another. Use a small dab on the threads before inserting the tube. This will allow the tube to stay tight without shooting itself "over tight".
I have seen tubes become so tight, they are destroyed removing them.
If nothing else, use a little oil on the threads and hand tighten the tube. Check it from time to time to make sure it is in place and snug. Never over tighten a choke tube.

Carlson's sells this that I use:
Choke Tube Lube
Tetra Choke Tube Lubricant is a fluoropolymer penetrating heavy duty grease lubricant. Applying a small amount of Tetra Choke Tube Lubricant to your choke tube will ease cleaning, reduce wear, prevent your choke tubes from seizing even with steel shot loads or heavy buffered turkey loads with repeated shooting. Tetra also fights friction and improves pattern performance in all choke tubes.

I use Birchwood Casey Choke Tube Lube. Midway has it for $6.99 for .75 oz.
