Normally I would point out that this is linked elsewhere, but I never get tired of watching that video.

Too bad the "educated" jurists for the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals don't get it.

Agreed, and she's 100% right on all counts.

I never saw this before, thanks for posting it. She also reminded me of something else...Brady was hit in the head with a .22, not one of those 'evil assault weapons' they're so dead-set against.

I guess I'll breech an unpopular topic too, since this has been brought up. I've thought long and hard about what she said about the second amendment being about protecting us from the government. I'm currently taking a class about the American Revolution and have just recently covered the causes of the Revolution. It made me realize that the Boston mob was burning houses down, beating people in the streets, and even a little tar and feathering for far, far less than what our government has been doing. As a result, I'm having to ask myself where, exactly, the breaking point is. At what point do we begin to use our EBRs to push back the hand of tyrants?

Sometimes I think that my one sure breaking point would be a retroactive confiscation of certain weapons. Then I realize that wouldn't even be the most heinous of acts which are going on. Some things like the so-called "freedom of choice act" and Roe v. Wade, income taxes, pork spending as a whole, public education...

Some of you may disagree about the above grievances, but I'm sure you could think of some that everyone could agree on, or at least a significant number of people find deeply objectionable. LTCFs and registration, for example. Or we could take this to Wall Street, and for those who did such damage the the public because of greed. It's unnerving to think about having to use deadly force or the threat of it against the government, even in the defense of our rights. The time may come, though, when the choice will be "Liberty or death!"

At the time of American Revolution there were very specific persons they could focus on, that didn't have a security squads protecting them I.E. Tax Collectors, Magistrates, Governors.
Also the "People" had the exact same weapons as the military had.

The problem is the government is so large to get to the persons or people that caused everything would be very difficult because the responsibility is spread between so many people. For example take the IRS: You have the worker bees (Field Agents, Office Personnel, etc.). These are the people that do the dirty work. Then you have the local managers that tell the worker bees what to do. Then you have regional offices that pass the orders down to the local managers. Then you have the enforcement arm which is usually your local sheriffs office or local police departments, district courts, or commonwealth courts.

My point is, there are so many involved in screwing with you where do you start? They all lying in order to make promotion points and cover their ass. The whole corrupt system was designed to make you helpless and at their mercy

Ed, just because it would be difficult doesn't mean that we we cannot resist such things. The British Empire was the greatest power on the planet. You say that there are worker bees and law enforcement to protect the system. Boston and New York actually had troops quartered there, yet the Sons of Liberty would picket the administrators, harbor officials, and other such's houses, break windows, or just beat them up in the streets, and then disperse when necessary.

All of your points show how things are even worse now than they were two hundred and forty years ago. Something should be done. With the way things are going now, it's only going to get worse. Where do we draw the line?
