Default ? on install of uncle mikes sling on mossy 500

I orederd and installed a sling on my Mossy 500 persuador.
Pretty simple after reading instrucitons and seaching net for more instructions.
    But a couple of quesitions.

I took out the retaining washer from the bolt, but did not replace it? Any issues here? I have a spare washer that came with it, but did not want to use it. I wanted to keep the spare. Can these washers be picked up at gun stores?

I had a really small washer and a black cylinder thingy left over, about 1/2 " long and 1/2 " across. It came with the kit. I don't think they were needed but wanted to make sure.

The instructions say don't leave the sling connected because of moisture, but if it does not get wet, does this apply?

Anyway it is a pretty cool sling and works fine, just had a couple newbee questions.

    Thanks in advance.
PS I did search for this and found no info.

Are you talking about the white plastic washer? I think its there to allow you to orient the studs in the way you like before mounting the sling. I leave my sling attached and store the gun in a breathable case. If anything gets wet I air dry the whole works for a day or so before storing it.

    Thanks for your answer.

Yes it is the little white washer, and I am fine the way I set it up, so I guess I did not need.

Also guess I did not need the black little clylinder. I also did not need the other little pieces and screws that go into a wood stock, which I do not have.

I will leave my sling attached also. It is in a nylon, foam type inexpensive case.
If the sling gets wet, I will dry it out and re attach it. Easy to do.

Did you replace the lock washer on the bolt you had to remove with the new one?

By bolt I thought you were referring to the stock studs, but you said your not using them.

Which bolt are you referring to.

    Sorrt for confusion.
The large bolt that holds the barrel on has slotted lock a washer on it. I had to take this off to put on the new bolt that came with the sling. I did not put on another lock washer. I guess I just need to make sue the barrel bolt is alway tight..

    Thanks much
