I live in Lehigh County...does anyone know me (for my LTCF references)?

I'm going to get a LTCF...but the Sheriff here in Lehigh requires 2 references (Lehigh residents). I realized that I really don't know anyone that lives in Lehigh very well.....my Co-workers (at this job and my prior job) are all residents of different counties.

I've met a few people casually, but don't know them well enough to put them as references.

Anyone help me out?

It doesn't have to be anyone in the same county if I remember correctly. They can be anywhere, they cant turn you down for that.

true,,,i was from allentown and they never contacted my 2 refrences,,just get 2 people who live in PA

It doesn't even have to be someone who lives in PA.

One of my references lives in Maryland. Didn't matter. They never contacted any of my references anyway.

I wouldn't sweat the references too much. Philly, of all places, didn't bother to contact my references. If they don't, I doubt anyone else will.

That was kind of what I figured, but I thought I'd check around anyway...

Might be a good excuse to get together for some shooting and a meet/greet!.

You need to have two lehigh county references. They will not accept and process your application without them.

I just left the sheriffs office and they were admitant that I needed Lehigh references.

That may be..but according to the OFFICIAL application, the only requirement of references is that they not be family members. They don't even need to be PA residents.

But still, many sheriffs still "get away" with requiring them to be residents of their county.

If they insist on the money up front, give them the completed LTCF application with the money order. If they refuse to accept it because of out-of-county references, do three things:
a. Ask what the lawful authority is to require in-county references.
b. Leave them the application and money, and remind them they have 45 days to issue the license - and the clock is now ticking.
c. Walk out the door.
