The imported SKS from KBI seem to be some of the finest seen. (MHO)
CONGRATS!
Barnaul HP .. a bit pricey but available as of this writing @ $129 per 500 and
$8.00 to ship. FWIW Barnaul is a step above Wolf.
(I have never dealt with this company so YMMV)

Way to go on the new SKS! I can vouch for Palmetto State Armory, great company! I just picked up a couple new SKSs last week. I got a NEW Norinco Paratrooper for $265, a NEW Norinco (standard) for $140, and a NEW Yugo for $175. I ran into those deals by accident and just couldn't pass them up. They were still taped up in the boxes that they were mailed to the shop in. Had been sitting there in a closet for years and years. Now the shop is closing down and I got them at a steal of a price! Super Happy in SKS land!
P.S. Palmettos website says they have the Barnaul in stock but when you try to buy it you get an Error b/c they have none left in stock. Must have just ran out!Last edited by Feddog82; February 5th, 2009 at 09:34 PM.

YES! Piss me off something fierce! That was back in 94 I bought my SKS for $80. I sold it for $150 in 99. I thought I made the killing!
That was Chinese type 56 tho.
This russian one does... cost ALOT more then that. But being russian made, it has all machined parts, unlike Chinese one, which most internal are stamped metal.
Its missing cleaning rod, and I do beleve its refinished.
But who knows? They may be banned may be in short time..Audemus jura nostra defendere

Re: Benjamins are rolling in from uncle Sam! And picking up new toy! (GOT IT!)
here is quick pic of my new Russian SKS.
Its KBI import, reconditioned(sigh...), all number match, really nice example.
machined trigger parts(I think my old Chinese one was stamped steel), laminated wood, original box, cleaning kits, sling(never been used from what I see), I don't think its been fired all that much to be honest.
Unfortunatly, its missing cleaning rod(anyone know where can I find one?), and did not come with stripper clips.
Next to her older brother..
(sorry for the shitty pic. bad lighting)
Her commrades..
I did manage to pick up 20rds box of 7.62x39(for whapping $19.95!), so I will shoot it tomorrow, and see how good it shoots.Audemus jura nostra defendere
