Ginsberg had pancreatic pancer surgery today ...
Looks like it was caught very early so her survival chances are far better than most. The spokes people are saying she expects to be participating (possible remotely) when the court reconvenes February 23.

Re: Ginsberg had pancreatic pancer surgery today ...
This is Ginsberg's second bout with cancer in the last 10 years. I think we have to be realistic and expect that she will either retire or pass away within the next four years. The mortality rate for pancreatic cancer is very high. If she survives, then good for her.
Practically speaking, having Obama replace her will not change the makeup of the court since she always sides with the left and interprets the 2nd amendment as not applicable to ordinary citizens. She voted to uphold the D.C. gun ban (which was overturned 5-4) and is a proponent of legislating from the bench. Obama could not find a more liberal judge.
Hopefully, his replacement pick will have paid their taxes.

Re: Ginsberg had pancreatic pancer surgery today ...
"Word on the street" last year was she was waiting until after the election to retire for the simple fact she didn't want Bush appointing her replacement.
I agree having Obama appoint a replacement for her wouldn't change much unless he really does an end run and picks a constitutional conservative ... who knows.

LMAO! That was good for a laugh there. Obama picking a constitutional conservative. That's a good one.
We can wish, but the reality is I think he will be looking for someone who can find chinks in the document that will allow him to further erode our freedoms.
Not that this is much different than any other PotUS.

Sweet, you signed up for some bailout money too?
As for an on-topic comment; I don't think this is really a story as far as the 2nd is concerned. Ruth is a lib, and she will be replaced by a lib. Nothing to see here, move along. BO may actually find someone further to the left. You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.
