A bad part of concealed carry
I'm not permitted to carry at work,so I leave it locked up in my truck. In a portable safe on a 5/16" cable attached to the seat mounts. Anyway, I come out from work, tip up the seat, run the combo lock and retrieve my glock in a IWB holster, pull up my shirt and slide it down over my belt. (clip on) That's when the bad part starts. It's 10 freaking degrees out! My gun and holster are 10 freaking degrees. My body is 98.6 Wow, is that cold on my bare skin. I think I'll just put it on the seat beside me from now on.

Try sticking it in front of a heater vent and warm it up for a minute.
That's what I do when mine gets cold waiting for me in the car.

I get the same sensation when my wife puts her cold ass hands on me.

Re: A bad part of concealed carry
Allowing a handgun to rest on the seat next to me out of a holster is a risk I wouldn't take. One bump and the gun can go sliding anywhere. And if you reach for it while trying to focus on the road you could possibly have a ND or crash the car.

put your undershirt between you and it.
no undershirt? in 10 degrees?
well then put it so your shirt is between you and it, no need to tuck. Surely you at least have a coat or jacket for cover...... it is 10 degrees out.

Re: A bad part of concealed carry
I wear mine in holster while driving as well... but I *cannot* draw with my seat belt on...
I do not have much issue with that though, considering I am probably better off focusing on driving than drawing... I really cannot imagine a single situation where I'd be better off drawing my weapon while sitting in my vehicle than just driving off.

Re: A bad part of concealed carry
Any reason you could not keep the gun in the car/truck but the holster on you?
Mind you, Putting a warm gun in a frozen holster can cause it to freeze there. The other option is having a dedicated holster for the car, some thing that is permanent under the dash that you just put the gun into.
Make it so you cant really see it from outside the car tho, because even an empty holster will make a thief curious...Skeet is a sport where you are better to hit half of each bird then completely blast one and miss the other completely.
