Default Bushmaster vs Del-Ton is the Bushmaster worth the Extra $$$

My local gun shop wants $1,119 for a new Bushmaster. I can get new Del-Ton for $789. Both are M4 - A3 and both come w/ 30 rnd mag and a hardcase.

Equipment being equal in version, etc.; is the Bushmaster really worth $330 more than the Del-Ton?

    FLAME JACKET ACTIVATED!

Bushmaster is typically a lower price point.
I have a bush, stag and charles daly defense... all M4's.

Bushmaster is the shitiest of my 3. It works, but its less costly (normally) because they are not as detailed as some others. The stag is also not the CDD. The CDD is no Larue. The Larue is no.....well, you should be seeing the point by now.

Anyways, the bushy is not worth $330 more to me. Is Del-Ton 1 yr warranty or lifetime? Bush is 1 year.

$330 will damn near place an EO-Tech or some other nice red dot on there. It will buy you 1,000 rounds of ammo. 20 or 25 Pmags. A safe from Disck's Sporting Goods. a Daniel Defense Omega Free-Float 4-rail picatiny hand gaurd.

I say Del-Ton if all things are equal except the money.

Del-Ton warranty: lifetime. Forgot to ask length of Bush. warranty, so I guess it would be 1 year.

    Sorry,

Thats a rude thing to say. There are many very happy Bushmaster owners. I have 1 that I got last night, my brother in law has had one for a year or 18 months, and I have 3 other pals that have them. Anytime we shoot together, the bushmaster guns shoot just like the Charles Daly does. Pull the trigger and it goes BANG!

There are just some differences is all I'm saying... and for the savings, unless those Del-Tons are known problems... I would use that money to make the Del-Ton a better weapon. Thats my take on it.

I am NOT saying a Bushmaster is shity, that was me using bad judgement on my choice of words.

Do they really have a del-ton in stock? I'm gonna bet the del-ton is a chrome molly barrel and not chrome lined?

For me, the 789 deal sounds pretty good. I'm not sure the bushmaster name and chrome lined barrel is worth $300 more.

I have two Bushmasters and the older one I've had close to five years, it has never had any problems with thousands of rounds. The other I just bought last week and haven't shot yet.

At one point in time a few years ago people would talk about the top rated, best made AR's as the ABC's (Armalite, Bushmaster, Colt){not necessarily in that order of best to worst}. That was before RRA, Stag, DPMS, and all the others came on to the scene. Now you are pretty hard pressed to say one is so much better than another. In the past, the Del-Ton's were mainly kit guns and mainly got them as a starter, learn to build gun and that's whatthey were thought of, good for a starter but not for SHTF. Companies quickly learn that if they don't make a quality product, no one will buy it.

Is a Bushmaster worth more than a Del-ton, maybe a few years ago I would say yes. Nowadays, I really don't know.

I have a Del-Ton and ordered two more kits. Getting the chrome lined barrel, even with a 1x7 twist is only a $45 upgrade. With a chome lined barrel, you can easily get a $700 Del-Ton.
