Default Show me an AR for CQB matches...

I've got an AR lower I've assembled that has been waiting for an upper once I figure out what the hell I want. I was thinking of getting a flat-top upper and mounting a scope on it for CQB matches, but wasn't sure if that was correct. Are scopes permitted for CQB match use?

If anyone cares to post a pic of their AR set up for CQB matches, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not familiar with "CQB Matches", several clubs across the state run combat style USPSA matches. In those matches, scopes and optics are allowed in Tactical and Open Divisions. Ranges vary from 5-300 yards in most cases.

In the west, Pardoe (Grove City), East Huntingdon and Greater Pitt all have rifle matches this year.

I think I want to do "something" like this with my AR this year. Maybe I'll tag along to something to observe if you're going to be shooting Lycan?h

Certainly. At least once a month starting in March or April.

I've almost got the new AR finished, and want to start working on getting better with it so I figured that beyond a training course (which I want to take anyway) that doing timed stuff is the best way.

Oh yeah. Nothing will make you faster and more accurate. Rifles are scored Minor in USPSA so you have to get the hits.

I'd only be competing against myself, so hits = for me.

Meh! Once you see how fast hits can be made, you'll start asking questions.....

If you want to shoot the W. PA rifle match with me, let me know. Kinda pricey, but I expect it to be well worth it.

We at Keystone Sportsmen Association run a carbine match and sometimes a 2 gun match (rifle and pistol) twice a year along with our IDPA match. At this point we have had 3 of these matches, we will be having our 4th in april.
