Home Defense and Penetration (with video)

As there are more and more folks showing up here, many stating that they have no previous experience with firearms, I thought it would be a good idea to show them what various types of "home defense" guns and various ammo types are capable of. Questions are being asked as to "what caliber" and "handgun or shotgun", and have no easy answer.

This video is from "The Best Defense" on Outdoor Channel, and clearly shows what happens after you pull the trigger with pistols, rifles, and shotguns.

It's important to remember that each person has to find what works best for themselves, depending on several important factors (including, but not limited to:training, experience, location, home structure, proximity of neighbors, and cost.)

It's also equally important for people new to the world of firearms to seek training in the use of their defensive tools, and must make the effort to become proficient in their use. Simply buying a gun and assuming to know how to use it is like buying a baseball bat and thinking you're ready to play for the Phillies.

so, if anyone has some good reference videos that will help the neophytes, tac them on to this post... even if the may seem contradictory (a la: the birdshot discussion). The point here is to provide clear cut information that's easy to understand for novice and intermediate gun owners (or future owners) so they can decide what's best for them.
