    Question CC Question regarding Philly

    Hi All,

New to this forum. Great Resource! I have a question regarding CC pertaining to Philly. Is there a restriction on the mag capacity if carrying there?
I did some searching on this but did not find anything conclusive.
    Thanks!

To be honest I do not know.

But if there is one it is illegal anyway due to preemption

Wow, that was fast! I was discussing a new pistol (CZ 75B) at work today with a coworker that has had a LTCF for many years, he said I can't take it to Philly because of the high cap mag. I took him at his word due to his experience, but the more I thought about it, it didn't make sense. He said no more than 5 rounds. I appreciate the answers.

Mayor "Nutcase" there would like you to believe that. Actually, he'd like you to believe you can't carry a gun into Philadelphia at all.

Of course, he'd be wrong. No surprise on that one.

PA has no restrictions on magazine capacity, and that law applies to the entire state of PA, including Filthy-delphia.

Here's a source for ya (yes, it's an odd choice, but I like irony)

The question of capacity and preemption should answer your question.

Thank you Al, that explains it very well. What irks me is the wording they use:

"This preemption of local government authority makes it impossible for cities to enact sensible gun laws to make their citizens safer."

What is "sensible"? If there are criminals wielding guns people call LEO's (good guys with guns) wouldn't it stand to reason that the more good guys with guns the better?

Sorry, this is off topic but it makes me angry because it seems the only ones anti-gun nuts want well armed are criminals. This forum and those like it are absolutely essential for us to stick together and fight for our rights. Thanks again, good info even though the source makes my skin crawl!

LOL! Don't get too worked up about it. It's the Brady Campaign's site. If it's bad for them, it's good for us.

Not to high-jack this thread, but are there any states that limit the capacity?
