    Default Got my Typhoon today.....WOW

    So I got my insight typhoon light today after a few weeks of waiting.

    I had played with the gladius that MarcS has (same as the typhoon). I had never been strobed by the strobe function on it, so I was questioning whether it would "work both ways" and bounce back in to my eyes as well. It doesn;t bounce back enough to even affect you.

    Next test

    I went onto the storage room at work that was pitch black, and had a coworker burst in and strobe me in the face. HOLY SH1T! I seriously just wanted to lay down and cry. You can't see a thing, it's just the darkness, then this hellish light flashing into your eyes. Defenielty a BIG asset and awesome addition to my "less lethal" things I carry on my person every day.

    Is Insight the model name or the manufacturer?

    I need a new light and was thinking of the Surefire Defender, but that strobing option sounds like a nice option.

    Can you post a link with the specs?

    www.insightlights.com

    Insight is the company, Typhoon is the model.

    * High intensity output, up to 80 lumens
    * 90-min. runtime at highest setting and 400 hours at lowest setting
    * Shock-proof LED; never change bulb
    * Multiple modes: constant, momentary, strobe, dimming and lock-out
    * Digitally managed circuit to control output power and heat
    * Hard-coat anodized aluminum construction
    * Weapon Mountable
    * Waterproof at 20 meters / 66 feet
    * (2) 3-volt, 123 lithium batteries, up to 10 years shelf life
    * Low battery indicator
    * Limited lifetime warranty

    It's the exact same light as the blackhawk Gladius (Insight made them for blackhawk)

    I have a Surefire Defender and I would defenitley recommend the Typhoon over the defender.

    If you don't mind me asking, who'd you order from?

    Myself, I'm a distributor.

    Before anyone asks, I can't get you a discount.

    Very nice.

    I been looking to upgrade from the old Scorpion that I have been beating the hell out of for years.

    I just looked at my dealer pricing on that light, and WOW!

    I'm glad I'm heading back to work soon. I'll be putting that little gem on my list of things to buy along with more magazines, more ammo and a newer and better gun belt.

    I have access to a distributor account. My friend runs an online tactical store and i talked him into letting me in on it.
