    Default CZ -- 75 P-01 vs Compact?

Okay, I have a CZ 75 P-01. It is a great gun, I have the Kadet kit for it, blah blah blah. My son-in-law shot it last week while they were up visiting from Fl., and now he is in love with them. He called me tonight asking me about the CZ Compact. When I went to look at the two guns on the CZ USA sight, I could not find a dime's worth of difference between the two. Is there anyone here who can enlighten me?

    Thanks.

I believe the compact is SA, with a manual safety. The P-01 being da/sa with a decocker.

If im wrong someone please correct me.

    Cheers,
    Jared

Edit: Also I think the compact is also a steel frame (p01 is alloy). I'm in the market for a P-01, they're pretty nice lookin.

According to the CZ site, both have the same mechanisms, DA/SA, and decockers. I asked on another site, and a CZ lover pointed out that the Compact does not have a rail as the P-01 does. But beyond that I have not found any real differences.

    Here we go:

    The CZ 75 Compact:
    http://www.czub.cz/index.php?p=32&id...&idz=4&lang=en

    Da/Sa with Manual safety
    Steel
    No Rail

    CZ 75 D Compact :
    http://www.czub.cz/index.php?p=32&id...&idz=6&lang=en

    Da/Sa with Decocker
    Alloy
    No Rail

    CZ 75 D Compact (P-01)
    http://www.czub.cz/index.php?p=32&id...&idz=7&lang=en
    Da/Sa with Decocker
    Alloy
    Rail

I had no idea about the regular 75 d compact even existing until now.

    Hope this helped,
    Jared

Yeah, not too far from Kutztown.

I've been meaning to get to one of these Northeast PA meet and greets sometime soon.

Cheers for a local CZ Owner. I hope to be one soon.

    CZ 75 compact

    CZ P01

    CZ 75 D PCR Compact

    CZ 75 full size

    Cz 75 SP-01

The top one, is the compact I have, it is Aloy frame, shorter by about an inch, and the dust cover is shorter also. basically less weight, easyer to carry.

I just played with both a compact and a P-01 the other day at the gun shop. The differences are small. It basically comes down to weight, decocker vs. safety and that the P-01 has a light rail. I also think that the P-01 takes a magazine that has a small finger extension.

Oh and the P-01 had a slide release that was slightly easier to reach with my thumb on my strong hand. I use my weak hand to release the slide though.

I like what the P-01 has to offer, but I can carry a 75 compact with a safety cocked and locked. I like that better than having a light rail. Pick one of the one that has the stuff that is important to you and you'll be happy.

Dunno aout yours, but my CZ75 compact has a decocker, no safety.

there's the PCR, which is alloy frame with a decocker and no light rail, then there's the regular compact and the D compact, which are steel frame and also have no light rail. They have a manual safety and decocker respectively. The P-01 has an alloy frame, decocker, and light rail.
