Just got my bullet trap! Pictures Added!
I have been waiting on this for a while now, but today I picked it up at the local welding shop. I conned Mikey into going along to help carry the thing, since it weighs approximately 140 lbs. It should be heavy enough to stop any pistol rounds and a lot of rifle rounds, but it is going to see mostly .22 pistol.
Tomorrow I will be helping a friend of mine install a hot water heater, so I can also get me a cheap chunk-o-plywood for my cover while I am at Home Depot. Pictures will come when I get it all set up. What this means is I can now target shoot in the yard again (suppressed if need be) and not have to run over to the range.Last edited by PennsyPlinker; January 24th, 2009 at 04:04 PM.

Re: Just got my bullet trap!
My father has a small bullet trap that he uses for shooting .22's... in the basement.
Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.

Re: Just got my bullet trap!
I don't think he'll catch many bullets with it. He put it too close to the road where they will be scared off by the passing cars.

Sounds freakin' awesome and can't wait for pictures. How did you go about getting it? Did you create plans and specifications and submit drawings for the shop or what? How did you determine what thickness and type of material to use? Was it spendy?
