Default Lost Wallet, Lost Card, What Now

I lost my wallet on the train and my LTCF (Delaware County) along with it. Has anyone been through the procedure for getting a reissued card from Delco? What does it cost?

Also, I moved into Philadelphia from Delco recently. Is that going to make it harder for me to get one reissued from Delco?

    Ugh.

Interesting... I have no solid information for you, but my gut feeling is you're going to have to reapply in Philadelphia. I look forward to some more replies here.

And to re-apply in Philly, they're gonna charge him...$50!

"16. In the event your Permit to Carry becomes stolen, lost, or misplaced, you must call police and file a report immediately. Upon obtaining an Incident Report Number from the District of Occurrence, you must then file a Lost/Stolen report with the Gun Permit Unit.

You are PROHIBITED from carrying a firearm until this Unit has made a subsequent investigation and a new permit card / number can be issued to you. The fee for the new Permit is $50.00".

I think your best bet is to contact Delco sheriff immediately and inform him that your permit has been lost since he issued it. I swear I read a procedure for this, but I’ll be damned if I can find it. IMO he'll issue a duplicate since it's still valid and your current residence doesn't affect the permits validity. Although IIRC the Delco sheriff is a bit famous for making up his own rules. There is a duplicate box on my LTCF what else would it be used for? Hopefully he won’t baulk because you moved and kick the can down the road.

Holy shit and WTF! That document should be taught in legal courses as an example of abuse of power! Thank God I don't live in Philly! No offense to Philly dwellers.

Alright. I called Delco and the story is that they do not issue replacement cards. To get a new card I would just have to start from scratch and apply again, only this time I would have to write them a letter explaining the circumstances surrounding the loss of the card.

    So there you have it.

Did you speak with the sheriff himself? It just doesn't sound right.
People loose their wallets. Shit happens.

That is a good point, I just talked to the woman who answered the phone in the firearms licensing department.

I don't know how it's gonna work out in the end, but I certainly wouldn't take one of the cronies word it.

The sheriff has a copy of your permit on record. IMO this shouldn't even be an issue. You are still licensed. I don't see how loosing a wallet suddenly makes you have to go through the process again.

Again why would a permit have a dup box on it if it weren't for a reason.

I would keep the fact you moved under you hat until you get a straight answer. They still might baulk though because of that.

Good luck. I hope you don't need to wait 3-6 months to get this rectified.

This is a good reason to have a copy.
