Default Coming home today, the new pup...

OK so in less then 2 hours, we will take posession of our new pup... Yes, those who know Poutine will probably guess, a Lady friend.

Anyways, the name we pretty well settled on is "Beaute" means beauty in french.

Here is my question to you, when they first meet, how with they react to one an other?

Ill try and post a video of their first meet to see who was closest later.

make sure you introduce them in neutral area that isn't already "your dogs" - sidewalk or front corner of hte yard is a good idea... that way one dog won't feel threatened... makes a difference
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Dogs use scent more than anything. I would before you introduce the dogs have a blanket that the new dog has been sleeping on around you and let your current dog sniff the blanket. pet your dog while he is sencing the other dogs scent. let him know this is a good thing. Have treats on hand to reward good behavior or praise with petting on the meeting of the other dog. Make sure thay are not on leash when they do meet because this usually pushes them to be more agressive. they will be fine. the new dog just needs to know who is Alpha.

Well we had to get home, the flight was delayed a bit, by the time we left the airport, it was past 6:45

Uploading pics as we speak... She is adorable, and so soft too, just like a bunny rabbit.

She is about 1/2 his size if that, hard to tell he moves so much compared to her... They are almost the same age give or take a week, but you can see she is used to being in a kennel or crate.

She is a bit shy, but does growl at him to say Hey! gimme time here... First time was while she ate the food he did not eat today, She looked starved while she ate.

Anyways, Lady Beretta wants to see pics, Ill post them later, but here is a link on my website so she can get a sneak preview.
