Default Ithaca Century SKB Trap gun?

Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge of this gun? I saw one at Cabela's, tagged for $700. It was in decent condition, not great, but good. There was some minor pitting and scratches in the barrel. The lady at Ithaca told me it was worth a max of $450 given its condition (and I was generous in describing it to her). When I related that to the kindly gentleman in the gun library, there was a lot of spluttering going on, but no change in the price. So I walked away from it. But I am interested in what anyone else might know about this gun.

SKB has always built decent guns and this one's no different. Good quality for the money IMHO. The couple I had the chance to handle and shoot were both 34" and were BT-99 ish.....very much the same feel.

They were common on the trap lines some years back but I haven't seen one being shot for a long time. I wanted a Century in my early trapshooting days but ended up with a Winchester Diamond Grade 101 O/U instead

In the condition you describe, if the action is tight, good unaltered bore, 4-5 hundred is reasonable.

Yeah, that's what the lady at Ithaca said. Unfortunately, the guy at Cabela's didn't see it that way. Maybe someone will come in and buy it for what they want, and maybe they will reduce the price eventually. I don't need one right this minute, so I can afford to wait.

    Thanks for the reply.
