    Default Versatile AR-15 stock?

I'm looking for a buttstock that would work well for "run & gun" standing, kneeling etc etc shooting as well as do a good job resting securely in a rear bag for shooting from the bench. Anyone know of such an animal? The Magpul UBR looks good, but it's pricey. How about the MOE? It looks like since the adjustment lever is inside rather than on the bottom, I wouldn't have to worry about the rear bag hitting it. Your $.02?

ACE Skeleton fixed stock or a good 'ol A2 stock. Latter is definitely not tacticool but is highly functional for your stated needs and you didn't mention any requirement for adjustable lenght of pull.

I would check put the Vltor Modstock clubfoot, or their Emod if you have a milspec tube already. You still have a collapsable stock and the rear of it is flat to sit better in a rear bag.

I've tried a few different ones and have settled on putting a Magpul CTR on my AR. It's light but with the friction lock, it rock solid once in the position that I want it.

    To Dave:

The CTR is a good stock, the MOE is the same but it's missing the friction lock, and I think the pushbutton QD studs.

I have a Vltor Emod which is an enhancecd version of the Cap'n's. I am totally in love with this stock and will be putting it on my other AR. One point to clarify though, you can get the Emod for a commerical tube and as a matter of fact it is exactly what I am running on my RRA. Good luck in whichever you decide on.

I've been converted to an LMT Sopmod fan.

I ordered an MOE. It'll be good enough for this rifle. I need to stash cash for the uber-high end AR build I've started getting parts for.
