Default Favorite Gun Shops in York

This isn't really a popularity contest, but I may have a couple of hours to kill in York on Saturday. I'm looking for some suggestions on gunshops to visit, let's say within 10-15 miles of the intersection of I-83 and Rt. 30. I guess I'm interested in ammo, reloading supplies, new & used guns.

I'll list all I know of already in this area and maybe a little further (in no particular order.) Would appreciate knowing of others.

    Stonybrook - Market St.
    Freedom Arms - Glen Rock?
    Gander Mtn. - W. Manchester
Dick's Sporting Goods (very limited - not really gun shops)
    Layman's - E. Prospect
    Hakes - Wrightsville
    Backwoods Outfitters - Columbia
    Trop - E-town
    Kinsey's - E-town

    Thanks in advance.

+1 on Stonybrook. The owner, John, is a straight shooter (no pun intended) from whom I bought a Kahr PM9 (at the Harrisburg Gun Show last year) and a CW9 and Rock River Arms AR-15 at his shop. Check in advance to see if he's open though - he won't be if he's attending a gun show somewhere. Hint: Prices are better for cash!

I haven't been to the others you mentioned, but I've passed by Freedom Armory. It's an indoor range, but I can't tell from their website if they actually sell guns. http://www.freedomarmory.com/joomla/index.php They're right off I-83 at the Glen Rock exit, south of York.

    Yep don't forget Stubby Gear.

I stopped in last night and he has a Ruger bolt action 44mag carbine with a rotary magazine (kinda like the 10/22 mag). It looks like a fun gun. Too bad I'm broke.

I've been past Stubby's twice since Labor Day and they were closed both times. Will have to check their hours.

Never heard of Deer Valley. Will have to do a search.

    Thanks.

    Anymore?

Stay away from Hake's, that woman is a grade A Bleotch (well she's nice till you give her your money, then the truth comes out). I'll never go there again.

No need to search, 1/2 mile up 30.

Sorry you had a problem with Janelle. I discovered Hakes not very long ago and recently they've been very successfully doing consignment sales for me. I've worked mostly with John but Janelle has always treated me fairly. I've also replaced some of what I sold with new and used handguns from Hakes. No complaints about the purchases either.

In the past few months they have become my favorite gun shop.
