Quick access? For what? Not being snotty, I'm unsure what motivates this Q.
Well, honestly, items I keep in wallet tend to get destroyed if they are not of the thick plastic credit card type. I saw some places like Galls, and Desantis sell dedicated ID holders that I thought might be better suited for carrying the license and also god forbid, if I was ever in a situation where I needed to produce it quickly to an LEO.

I just put it in my back pocket. I do not carry a wallet. My dl lives in my glove box.

Ah. More and more counties are issuing plastic card LTCF's. If yours does not I guess the best thing is a separate holder or laminating.

As for needing to produce it, I don't think it will make any differnece how long it takes you to dig it our of your wallet once it is requested/legally demanded.

Mine is right underneath my DL in my wallet. Once when pulled over for a traffic stop (expired inspection), the officer noticed it when I took my license from my wallet & asked about it. I wasn't carrying.

Before mine expired last year, I kept it in my wallet. Sometimes behind the DL, sometimes behind the CC, sometimes in front of everything. Just depended on how I put things back into the wallet. Now it sits in the top drawer of my dresser.

I intentionally keep mine separate from my DL, so it's not "accidentally" seen. I also make sure I don't do things that might inadvertently put an officer on alert, like keep a firearm on top of my registration/insurance in the glove box.

All of my vehicle papers/ID/LTCF and weapons I may be carrying are kept separate from each other, and all completely within reach of the drivers seat. This way nothing is seen unless I specifically reveal it, and I don't have to be leaning/twisting around to get something.

During winter months, I carry a bank card, UT CCW and a spare key. In warm weather, I OC, and keep the license in my vehicle (the only place I really need it).
