Transfer question
Do you need to do the transfer in the same county that you live?
I just bought a firearm from out of state, I have to arrange shipping now. I live in Delaware County and work in 'illadel.
When I bought a rifle previously, I lived in Chester County and had a Somerset County d/l. They said I needed something with an in county address.
Is this true? If I want to do it by work, I do it at SPAG (for $55 by the way). If I want to do it in Delco, where is a good place? I'd have to default to Targetmaster, aren't they $50?

Re: Transfer question
You can do a transfer anywhere in the state. Your address on the transfer paperwork must match the address on your ID>
You are legally supposed to have the proper address on your DL to where you actually live. ...something like 10 days to change the address, and you can be cited for it or lose driving privileges .
Its easy to do, it can be done online at the PennDOT site, license offices, some insurance places, some notarys.

Re: Transfer question
As long as you're a resident of PA a transfer can be done anywhere in the state. The address you put on the federal and state (if needed) paperwork needs to be the same as what is on your DL and where you actually live. As said, changing your address with PennDOT is easy to do. As an FFL if you fill out the papers and your DL is a different address I would wonder what you are trying to do, unless you prove to me that you just moved and haven't had a chance to change it. FFL's are going to be suspicious about things like this because if things aren't correct we can get hammered.

Re: Transfer question
The d/l thing was 8 years ago.
I just want to make sure I can send it to where I want.
SPAG is close enough to grab it after work, but there is absolutely no parking whatsoever. I could take the subway to work and home that day. Maybe I'd have to do a Terminator thing and get a box of roses to carry the gun home in.

Not sure where you are in Delco, but Ken Crane is in Crum Lynne. He's a super guy, his hours are a little tough. 6 to 8 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
