    Default LTCF refrences?

Ok so I'm thinking I'm going to go down to the courthouse in Greensburg and apply for my LTCF. Do the two references who are not family members have to live in Westmoreland county? I have one who does and one who doesn't. If I have to I'll work on finding another one who does.

Also what can I expect when I go to do this, I've never even been in the courthouse before.

There is no statutory requirement that your references reside in the same county (or state for that matter) as you.

    No, they don't.

The hardest part for me was finding the sherrifs office. Once I got there I told them I wanted an aplication for a LTCF, filled it out, got my picture taken, and waited for my envelope in the mail.

Some counties do it a little different so I'll let someone from YOUR county tell you how it went for them.

Westmoreland county's instructions do not mandate residency requirements at all, for your references. They seem to follow the law to the letter.

First thanks for the swift responses, it is much appreciated. I just finished filling out the application and I'm heading to the courthouse tomorrow.

Before they were swamped with applications I was told by a couple people that if you went up and they took your picture, they printed it up and gave it to you right then. I don't know how its going now, because after the election apparently tons of people have been sending applications. I'm hoping by showing up (because I want the photo ID) that they'll maybe just give it to me then since they have to take my photo anyway.

Anyone who's done it I'd love to hear how it went.

Lehigh's application stated they needed to be county residents. I did not know about the statute stating that it wasn't a mandate.

Statute does not "state that it isn't a mandate". Statue is silent on the issue, thus there is no requirement that they be residents of the same county (or state).
