Question about .357 loads
I heard that the Remington Golden Saber 125 gr. bjhp is a good (accuracy/defense) load for a .357 magnum. Is there a general agreement? If so, how much do you think is a reasonable price? If not, is there a better choice? I'm looking for something that gets the job done without breaking the bank (my piggy bank).

Re: Question about .357 loads
It is about as good as anything else. Any quality ammo will serve your purpose.

Re: Question about .357 loads
I like the soft point for the .357mag. As stated above it will do as good a job as anything else and will be cheaper.

Re: Question about .357 loads
I use the 125 grain Golden Sabers and my tests in wet telephone books and blocks of wood show that the bullets expand well. With the 125 gr bullet out of a 4" barrel you get a muzzle velocity of 1220 ft/sec and 413 ft-lbs. It may be less than other loads but adequate. Especially when the felt recoil is much lower and easy to control. I pay around 21 bucks for a box of 25.
