Reloading for the .300 Savage
Hi all.
I am loading 150 grain bullets for a .300 Savage. I am hoping that someone can point me in the direction of a powder that will give me consonant groupings.
I have been trying to work up loads using BL-C(2) powder. It seems that I get very inconsistent results. For example today I got a 1 inch group at 100 yards and then on the next 4 rounds I got an 11 inch group. I just can seem to be very sporadic results. I have tried loads up to 37.5 grains behind a 150 grain bullets. I am going to continue to work up loads with the bl-c(2) until I get to the max pressure. I am expecting to get better results but if I don’t is there anyone who has a pet load for 300 savage?
Any ideas for powder that you know works well in the 300?
Anyone had good luck with the BL-C(2) in a savage or other .30 cal round?
Thanks,
