Know anything about a Star .22 Semi?
I have a Star brand .22LR pistol that I bought as my first pistol in 1963 or 1964 when I was in the service. The best I can tell it was manufactured in Spain sometime after 1960.
I have found a great website (http://www.star-firearms.com/firearms/proof.shtml) that helped identify the weapon.
Mine looks to be a series F1 without a proof mark although the grips don't have the thumb contour and star logo as shown on the site.
Picture from the website
My Star F
It's in pretty rough shape - needs to be re-blued, the grip by the safety is worn down, the rear site is missing and (for some reason) the front side was apparently ground down to make it narrower.
I know it's a long shot but wondering if anyone here is familiar with the gun.Last edited by Daedalus; December 28th, 2008 at 02:37 PM.

That is a pretty cool pistol..
I have a Star PD .45 compact myself.
I don't too much about, because it was left to me by my Great Uncle.
But I will use the link you provided to decode it..
Thanks.Last edited by RONNIE77; December 28th, 2008 at 12:26 AM.
