Default .460SW or .500SW which is cooler

I will see if I can get Renegadepheonix to post a pic of the rifle he has that inspired this.

He has a TC in 45-70 with ported barrel that is just sweet.

I was thinking maybe in '09 I would make a project out of assembling one in either 460 or 500.

If I go 460 I could also shoot 454 casull and 45LC, so that is a big plus as far as practicle considerations go.
If I go 500, well, its a 50 cal, and thats just cool.

then, should I go with black furniture (is there such a thing as a ESS (evil single shot) or EBO (evil break open))
    or wood ?

"Cool" factor I'd go with the .500...but then you said you can shoot .454 and .45LC out of the .460.

I'd have to pick up a .460 then, over the .500.

Ammo availability makes it much, much cooler.

I'm a big fan of the .45 colt caliber... especially when you can load it up as hot as you can in the .460 or Ruger .45 models.

The .500 because you can buy and shoot REALLY big bullets. See http://www.lsstuff.com/ranger-rick/.

Renegade: Which one is that? I have an Encore pistol barrel for the .500 S&W. Is that the carbine length .500 or the .460?

I would go with the 460. It gives you options.

    I have a contender in 45-70, .223, 30cal herret, 357 herret.

Will you keep it asa hand gun or put a shoulder stock onto it?

I voted other: Ruger 480. One, it's because it's what I have. Which is because I've heard the recoil from the 454 casull really wraps your wrist, and as you may know, I have sensitive hands. My ruger really likes the 400 gr heads over the 325gr. ones. Secondly, S&W always seams to come out with a gun I would have rather purchased after I bought another. I haven't shot the 500 but that would be my next choice.

Not me...that's actually Hell Fire. ( I don't even own a Hi Point .380! LOL)

Nice rifle btw! That is certainly one nice thumper! I voted .500 SW just because I would love to have a pistol version chambered in that round!
