    Default Company Blocks PAFOA!!!

    Could you believe I am now blocked from viewing this website (PAFOA) in work! Websense blocks it with its reason "weapons".

    Are their any computer people that know about websense. Did a person determine to block this, or does a computer search for certain words and automatically block it.

    Wanna laugh? We have a gun pro course where I work...yep, you guessed it...websesnseless blocks 'weapons'.

    Including Brownell's (there is an exam specifically using that site and catalog). the ATF site, and our own site!

    Just a reminder to all...your company has the right to monitor and restrict any and all web browsing, emails, etc. that you do on your work computer. It's their computer and their Internet connection and there are no privacy rules to protect you.

    Check your company's policy manual for info on their particular procedures

    They can also fire you if you try to circumvent the filtering software.

    And any real filtering software will block proxy sites.

    My company uses Bluecoat - PAFOA is block for the same reason.

    Sometimes all you have to do is send yourself a "link" in your personal email and it will bypass Websense.....at least it did several years ago when I was working at my previous job.
