Action Shoot in Youngwood, Westmoreland County

The A&S Pistol Range in Youngwood hosts an Action Shoot twice a month. The next one is Monday, January 5, 2009. It's fun, you can use your own ammo or buy it there, it only costs $3.00 per run, you can make as many or as few runs as you want to, and participants use their normal carry pistols and revolvers, or what have you. If you're not sure if you want to participate, come and watch (but bring your gun just in case)! They set up 8 IDPA type targets in various positions, and simulate "real world" type scenarios. Each target is shot twice, and you make at least one reload. Your score is calculated by how well you placed your shots and how fast you finished. I'm going! I've never been to one, and couldn't pull off the ones in Dec due to some schedule conflicts.

Sweet, maybe I will run out there some time.

Nifty...though if you are that close I do want to point out that our group shoots are something you might want to do as well.

We have a "shoot house" set up with IPSC targets and you can run it all you want. 5 bucks for non members for the 3-4 hours the shoot is on. We just take turns....great experience if you haven't done it yet.

When/How often do you put those on?

I thought he was asking if the group shoots were the same thing the OP was talking about.

I know we set up a house at the group shoots. I spend most of the day running the darn thing with my AK.
