Default CLEO for Curio and Relic

I am in the process of preparing my curio and relic license application. When it comes to the CLEO section I am stumped. Who should I send it to? I live in a township which has its police services provided by the State Police. But, technically the DA of each county is the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in that area. Also what about the Sheriff? They don't patrol but do handle CCW permits, warrant service, civil enforcement, etc. Anyone have any thoughts? I was leaning towards PSP but have no idea who to send it to. Any other C&R holders out there?

You'd send it to the Sheriff then since he is the CLEO when no municipal police serve the area. By default, the Sheriff is always the CLEO of the entire county. Only when a local police services your area does a Chief of Police get the copy.

I am in the same boat. I sent mine to the Sheriff and everything went through just fine.

That is confusing, because, as you say, in Allegheny County, on the DA's website he says:

"As District Attorney, I am the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for the county..."

But most people take that to mean sheriff, as already stated
