Rifle shooting on property?
Hello, I am a native of Spring Grove, but have been in the Army for 8.5 years and counting. I am currently home on leave for a few weeks then off to Korea.
My question is can I shoot a .22 rifle, or any gun, on my parents property? I do not live in city limits and have a large field and woods behind my property. There are only houses to my left and right.
I could not locate my answer searching or on the interner anywhere specifically stating whether I can or not.
Thanks, Dave.

Re: Rifle shooting on property?
Check with your township. There are usually ordinances about it. You're probably okay though.
Thank you for your military service!

Just make sure of a good backstop.
In N. Codorus, you should have no problem

The OP could be in Jackson township. They're a little funny over there.

+1. Never had an issue shooting on my property. And a .22 should not attract any attention.

I live about a mile from the North Codorus township building, I had a .22 that I sighted the scope in on last year and never had a problem. I recently had a fail to fire issue with an 8mm Mauser at the range and after correcting the problem had shot that off on the property and had no issues either.

We're getting a huge influx of people from Maryland in the area. It'll be interesting to see how long it stays gun friendly. I shoot quite a bit at home but try to do it in a manner that doesn't tic of the neighbors.
